Ever wonder if there were any cleaning products that thoroughly clean but without the toxins? There is! Not only is it found in many kitchens around the world, it’s also safe and Eco friendly. You don’t have to spend half the day trying to find this mystery product because it’s located in every grocery store. In this article, the best ways to use vinegar to clean your home will be mentioned and how it can meet all of your cleaning needs.

Known as the miracle cleaner, it is cheap yet powerful. This product is formed from one of two main ingredients; fermented starches or sugars and is a weak version of acetic acid. Before using, please know that while cider and other varieties of vinegars are pleasant in dishes and cooking, they aren’t quite as good for cleaning uses. These can cause unpleasant side effects. Stick to using plain white vinegar that is fully concentrated unless noted otherwise.

To make cleaning and application easier, use two spray bottles. For the first, add straight vinegar. For the second, dilute by using half vinegar and half water.

Vinegar works great as a bathroom cleaner. Everything from dirty toilets to soap and scum buildup is no match for this wonderful cleaning agent. If your toilets are stained and discolored, simply spray the bowl, let it sit for a few minutes, then scrub with a toilet brush. Shower heads that are corroded from chemicals or buildup can be soaked in the solution overnight and then wiped clean. Faucets that have soap residue may be cleaned with one part of salt mixed with four parts of vinegar. Mildew can be prevented by spraying down shower curtains, stalls, and doors.

Odors are a common problem in the kitchen. Vinegar will make them disappear. Garbage disposals can be cleaned by pouring one cup down the drain. This needs to sit for at least an hour before using. It also works for sinks. If odors are in your microwave, fill a bowl with half a cup of vinegar and a cup of water. Allow to boil and then remove carefully. This will remove smells and allow food that has been baked on to be removed easily. To get rid of a burnt smell, bring some water to a boil with a few spoonfuls of the product.

Vinegar is a great way to clean wooden cutting boards. Just spray and then wipe off. This also works as an excellent cleaner for all your kitchen surfaces. Use on the refrigerator, counter tops, dishwasher, and stove.

Use a solution of half vinegar and half water to clean windows. For best results, use newspaper to wipe excess. Stains are removed by mixing a solution of one teaspoon vinegar, one teaspoon of dish detergent, and a cup of warm water. Spray the area with the formula and wait for two minutes. Blot the stain with a cloth and then use a hairdryer to dry the spot.

Your clothes are an ideal use for this product. Odors are eliminated and colors are made more vibrant. Any buildup that has collected on your clothing from laundry detergents will be removed. For this to work, simply add half a cup to your rinse cycle.

Now that you know the best ways to use vinegar to clean your home, try using a few of the tips and tricks mentioned. This completely versatile cleaner does everything from remove stains and clean toilets, to keeping insects and weeds at bay. These are just a few of the many uses vinegar can provide while meeting all of your housecleaning and other essential, everyday needs.

There are tons of vinegar uses. As an example, did you know that you can start cleaning with vinegar? You may think it would stink up your home, but if you do it the correct way, it will not stink. It will do its job and make things clean.

The basic principle behind hydroponic gardening was discovered way back in the 19th century when it was realized that soil is simply a medium to support the growth of a plant and not a vital ingredient for their life. However, the vital ingredients required for a plant to thrive and grow healthy are the nutrients that are present in the soil. If the same nutrients are present in any other medium be it water, mineral wool or coconut husk, the plants can grow well and also give excellent yields considering the conditions provided are appropriate. Hydroponic gardening and environmental concerns go hand in hand.

In a world of growing environmental concerns, this method does not make use of fertilizers and pesticides which infuse toxic chemicals in the environment and make it unfit.

The solution can also be aerated if required through the use of a pump similar to the one used in aquariums. The water used here can also be re-used and re-circulated through solar pumps to cut down on the carbon footprint. The carbon dioxide in the hydroponic green house can also be controlled to get a better yield and a good quality products. The roots of the plants are not fully submerged in the solution.

The plants in this kind of gardening are grown in tanks made from glass, plastic, concrete and other similar material to prevent the growth of algae in the nutrient solution through its interaction with light.

The lids covering these containers are provided with holes to allow space for the plants to grow out. This method comes in handy for seed germination and propagation. All variety of plants can be grown through this method. It is fascinating to observe the way the plants respond to the controlled environment.

This method can also be used for researches, for seed germination, propagation, etc. Since there are various methods of performing hydroponics, the resources such as water involved in the process can also be re-used.

What more? If you are short of space in your home to grow a real garden, this method can help you grown almost all varieties of plants to have colorful flowers, vegetables and fruits. Considering the environmental concerns these days, hydroponic gardening is constantly bettering itself in order to provide larger yields and cut down on the carbon footprint. The greenhouses housing these gardens are now injected with carbon dioxide that the plants may need and more environment friendly methods of lighting it up for longer durations are being developed.

Find the best hydroponic grow system by looking online. There you can learn how to use LED grow lights to see better growth. Head online today and learn more.

With everyone going green these days due to the public awareness about global warming and related issues, it was only a matter of time that the hospitality industry, architectural greats, corporate houses and even private home owners took to advancing the cause of kindness to Mother Nature. This latest trend towards the cause of environmental protection can be seen in the popularity of natural area floor coverings that enhance decor aspects.

Decorative items made of natural materials and processed the non-toxic way are not less impressive as the conventional products. In fact, they are worthy of admiration for more than just their beauty, but also for their contribution to the environment. Natural area rugs for instance, are allowing environmentally conscious homeowners to adorn their homes with decors without harming the environment.

It is also a conscious decision for many based on eco-friendly actions of friends and community initiatives that have lead to many home owners choosing to recycle domestic use items. They are not only purchasing naturally produced, reusable things such as renewable energy devices in their houses but extending the same pro-earth thoughts to their home decor accents as well in a bid to do their bit for Mother Nature.

Using natural area rugs is trendy! How can it not be when going green is now the latest craze? Hopefully, it will become everyone’s lifestyle and not just a phase of interest.

Natural area rugs have been in existence even before my awareness to the environmental cause has started. For the last ten years, natural-made rugs have been doing their rounds in the consumer markets. I sure hope that they will not be going anywhere but to more stores and more homes. That the underlying reason for their existence will reach more people’s awareness.

This change however is not just the result of green home consciousness increasing in consumers of quality home decor products. It is also largely due to the immense variety in styles, sizes, weaves and prices of rugs made available from manufacturers of naturally produced materials for floor coverings. A host of related home decor products including area rugs, window blinds and foot mats in a variety of natural materials enables home-owners to create a special theme look to any room or a favorite corner. Add to it easy, online shopping deals and it comes as no surprise that house-proud owners are flocking to premium and budget furnishing websites and local stores for the finest picks in natural rugs.

If you are looking to cover a floor with quality furnishing aspects that afford a cozy, elegant or even formal look, you first need to establish the use of the area. Is the space meant for single seating or group leisure zone? Are you planning on placing a piece of furniture on it or will it be a stand alone piece? If the area rug of choice is made of natural fibers such as sisal or bamboo, you can even continue the theme of the green home by grouping a couple of indoor potted plants at one corner of the area rug.

Our best hint for decorating with environmentally friendly rugs, is to use these shag bamboo rugs which will suit any modern furnishings.

“Have I remembered to BYOB this year?”. This is a query everybody should ask himself or herself. We are midway through 2010 and there has never been a more important time to bring your own eco friendly reusable shopping bags. When you BYOB, instead of using single-use plastic or paper disposable bags, you instantly become a piece of the solution to the enormous urban litter problem associated with disposable shopping bag waste. As of July 1st 2010, it is estimated that over 240 billion plastic bags have been consumed in 2010 alone. Whats even more alarming is the effect that plastic and paper single-use bags are continuing to have on the ecosystem. The purpose of this article is to look at the most recent information regarding large-scale efforts to decrease the use of plastic and paper throw-away bags along with the associated litter, and discuss what choices are available to us individual consumers in order to know for sure we are a part of the answer to this problem.

The excellent news is that BYOB momentum is growing rapidly in this year. Provided you haven’t heard yet, the California legislature has written a bill; AB 1998 (to be voted on by the Senate in August), which would ban throw-away bags sold inside supermarkets, drugstores, convenience, and liquor stores and take complete effect no later than 2013. Even The Governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, said that he would sign his name on the bill if it makes it to his desk. This would be a massive win for all friends of the natural world to have the most populated state, in the 3rd largest nation on the earth, to put in place a prohibition on throw-away plastic bags. Considering that China already cracked down on plastic bags in 2008 and Ireland lawmaking efforts to lower plastic bag consumption began in 2002, it is so wonderful to be informed that California legislators have introduced this bill to the table.

In America, metropolitan areas from San Francisco to Los Angeles to Washington DC have approved or enacted laws that either tax customers for the utilization of plastic bags or ban them overall, but California would be the first American state to take action if this bill were to be approved. Believe it or not, even lawmakers from the state of Texas have written possible legislation that would insert a seven-cent tax for each throw-away bag used. It is so exciting that there is a prospect that both Texas and California might soon have laws and regulations in place to fight the plastic bag craze. Hard work by persons and governments to shrink large-scale use of single-use grocery bags is a wonderful way to encourage people and spread the word about the overwhelmingly positive benefits of ecologically friendly reusable shopping bags.

Plastic bags might take up to 1000 years to biodegrade completely, and prior to that it just deteriorates down in smaller and even tinier poisonous pieces that end up in our food, water, and soil. Biodegradable green bags, are a great alternative, once thrown away in landfill sites, the exposure to daylight, air, and warmth will convert these bags into liquid, carbon dioxide, mineral salt and biomass. Like a fallen leaf, it will disappear over time as well as leave NO Harmful Residue in the soil. Single-use plastic bags end up in our landfills as well as regularly get tangled and cause permanent harm in garbage management equipment. Hundreds of millions if not billions of further bags end up as urban litter and frequently find their way in to ponds, large bodies of water, streams, as well as the sea. Creatures, especially nautical animals, get entangled in disposable plastic bags, and/or swallow them and often suffocate or starve to death.

So the solution leads us back to BYOB, which is extremely effortless. Just remember to utilize eco friendly reusable shopping bags or recycled shopping bags, or reuse an old bag, period. Be sure to keep additional reusable bags within your vehicle or within your backpack, since you will want to make sure they are handy when you need them. Also remember to disinfect your bags after use, in particular after transporting raw foods or cleaning supplies. You may also present them to your friends as a reminder to BYOB. Of course, continually remember to recycle every time the chance presents itself, recycling is always a victory for the natural environment. Adopting a BYOB habit in our individual lifestyles and organizations is certainly the greatest way to make sure we are truly part of the solution rather than the problem. Right now is the time to go out and lead by example.

Albert Jefferson is an accomplished writer discussing eco and sustainability issues and spreading the word to consumers and companies to utilize eco friendly wholesale recycled bags to promote both their brand and awareness for the environment. We can help this planet with every bag we reuse.

Consumers define themselves by the products that they purchase. Buying green or economically friendly products promotes a lifestyle that benefits the environment. If consumers are concerned about the environment, they will likely desire to pass on that value to their children. Children are less likely to see the value of products that they do not use. Ecofriendly educational toys enrich the lives of children. By teaching children the value of our planet and our environment now we promote healthy lifestyles for the future. This also protects our planet and the fragile environment.

Many individuals are concerned with the impact they have on our environment and for good reason. Rising levels of pollution and the threat of global warming are becoming more of a problem every day. The forward looking consumer will try to minimize the negative impact they have on the environment in a number of ways.

There are many obvious ways to minimize the impact that your lifestyle has on the environment. Driving less, carpooling and using renewable energy sources are all parts of a lifestyle shift that makes consumers more green or environmental conscious. Using locally produced products can cut down on the transit cost of goods shipped from faraway. Green consumers are always looking for ways to improve the impact that their lifestyles have on their environment.

Parents aim to pass their lifestyles choices on to their children. Whether this lifestyle choice is a political, economic or religious belief, parents want their children to adopt the lifestyle choices that they see as obviously valuable. Nowhere is this more obvious than with consumers attempting to minimize their negative impact upon our environment. They see that the lifestyles of their children can have a negative impact upon their experience of life if it promotes pollution and gobbles up resources. The best way to promote a green lifestyle is when children are young and impressionable.

Alternative lifestyle changes can be accomplished by looking to less green centric lines of products. Eco friendly science supply toys can provide consumers with a great avenue to promote a lifestyle that minimizes negative impact upon the environment. Economically safe toys ought to be constructed from renewable materials in a way that minimizes their carbon footprint without breaking easily so that they can be used again and again.

Teaching your children the value of the environment early makes it easier for them to develop eco friendly lifestyles. If they are used to walking rather than driving a car when they are young, it is easier to maintain that habit throughout their lives rather than to develop a new habit. Toys can be essential in developing these habits.

Further some toys are eco friendly without being educational. It is important for toys to enrich the lives of those that play with them. Look for wooden board games to teach children about rules. It will enrich their understanding of math and promote positive life habits.

As consumers continue to care about the world and our environment, ecofriendly science educational toys will become more prominent. This is great as they both enrich the lives of children and minimize harm to our planet and environment. Wooden board games offer a great alternative to their plastic counterparts while still teaching children.

Heating wood or other organic matter in a gasifyer is done to release the volatile elements within the wood. The gasses produced can be used in an engine to make power or just burned in a heating system. The gasifier is fundamentally a container that is insulated to hold in the heat.

A gasifyer is a mechanical contraption for heating wood chips, or various other types of dry organic matter, to a temperature high enough to liberate the volatile gasses locked within them. These gasses when liberated can be burnt for heating, or used in an internal combustion engine to make energy. The basic construction of the gasifier may be a canister perhaps the size of an oil barrel which needs to be well insulated to retain the heat.

The container has within it a layer of burning fuel. Outside air is allowed through to the bed of fuel creating a controlled burn, and starting the production of gas.

Being self contained has many advantages.

A modest controlled burn is necessary, partially because you do not want to simply set fire to all the combustion volume, and the small fire burning with limited oxygen is efficient. The heat produced is also used to dry and heat up the wood chips, so that as they drop into the grating they are in the ideal condition to replace the burned-out mass. Realistically the fire should reach roughly 1200 degrees F. The combustible gasses produced rise and escape at the top of the gasifier. The gasses are then cooled and filtered, the cleaning is to cause less damage in an engine, and a denser gas has more power.

Some of the chief advantages of the gasifyer is it is able to be made small enough to be self contained and moveable, on a trailer or trolley. An oil drum sized producer should be able to drive a small four cylinder engine, and the gas from a mediocre fuel is as beneficial as that from an costly one.

The types of fuel normally used will be waste wood chips, chipped branches, coconut waste, rice and corn husks and even battery chicken shed litter. In some parts a fuel crop such as a fast growing willow may be used.

Could this be a fresh source of fuel? Commercial farming needs to pay out cash disposing of huge amounts of waste to landfill. A added advantage is the residue from the gasifier is very useful as a soil conditioner and fertiliser, making the whole process even greener.

A large industrial gasifier may have to be used in an district heating project or in a large farm yard waste energy producer in order to acquire economies of scale.

My special interest is in lessening the expense of home power production or yet off grid living.

The end result with home gasification is a clean burning fuel with little pollution. An added advantage.

1 gallon of petrol is said by many to be equivalent to 20lbs of dry chipped wood. A gasifier of appropriate size will furnish all the gas to run a selected engine, the larger the gasifier the bigger the engine. Gasifyers can be designed to neccesitate no outside energy, though having a forced draft helps the machine to start, and of course some one or some thing has to feed the fuel into the hopper. Once functional the inductance from an internal combustion engine will drag air through the hearth, effectively making it self sustaining.

A gasolene engined generator plus a gasifer and a fuel supply makes an ideal alternative energy source.

This Process is Two Centuries old, but is just as relevant now when the world needs an appropriate new fuel source. Find out now how heat and electricity can be produced with the latest generation of gasifiers. Find out more information at The Gasifyer. Com.

Nowadays with electricity costs climbing, it seems that it’s a very smart move to invest in solar panels to leverage the power of the sun. It can be great for providing power for your lights, hot tub or even for power when you go on a camping expedition.

Regardless of how you want to use the solar power, you can now build your personal little solar power station at an extremely affordable cost.

If you search around online, you can find many guides for DIY solar panels and the way to create solar energy yourself. Some of these guides are quite advanced but there are others that have been written with the average home-owner in mind and have been broken up into many simple baby steps that are simple to complete. Whats more, these panels can be created for as little as $50 which is nothing when compared to thousands that they’re usually sold for.

By finding a quality guide and following the instruction you can finally cut down on your electricity costs and also have the additional power to power up whatever you like. I’m going to avoid pointing out any specific guides in this article itself as there are many different types aimed at different people who would like to accomplish different things. But a few quick searches and you can easily find the best guide for you.

One of the numerous benefits that you will get from making your own, is that you don’t need to be stuck with the sizes that they’re mass produced in. You can choose what shape and size you need and whilst using the plans that found online, can build the solar panels you like.

You will be amazed how easy it is to build your own little solar power panels, you will be absolutely hooked, they are also enjoyable to make and you’ll find yourself returning to the guide time and time again while you add much more solar power panels to your home and create as much electricity as you desire.

I have heard of many success stories online about many people who are using solar and literally not paying a dime for electricity every month! Just imagine what you could do with the money you save from paying for your power! Enough for another yearly holiday I’m sure.

So if your interested in this then I advise you search the Internet to find exactly what you specifically need. You may also want to join a forum with like minded individuals who share your dream of building they’re own solar power stations! The information that can be gotten from these sources is invaluable.

Come over to the make solar power website.

New research claims that solar panels will become even more affordable in the near future. The cost of solar panels will decrease in part to the life expectancy of a solar panel. It was initially thought that a solar panel would last only between 10-20 years; new studies have shown that they can last up to 30 years.

Environmentalists as well as policy makers are encouraging financial institutions to make available to homeowners the finances available to purchase and install solar panels because they are very cost efficient and will be able to repay for themselves with less energy consumption.

Governments across the globe including Europe and China have been listening to these environmentalists and have been offering incentive packages for the installation of solar panels. This has increased the demand and lowered the prices of solar panels. The US and India are expected to implement similar incentive plans for their citizens as well. This will push demand even further, and prices even lower.

Paying itself back is the name of the game. The real expense of solar panels is buying the physical equipment and paying for installation. The rest is basically free because you are relying on natural, free energy.

One major goal set out by the renewable energy industry in the solar field is to gain as much ground on grid generated power as possible. There are some very enthusiastic goals set out by the industry, especially in Europe. These include making getting your energy from solar power as cheap as it would be to buy it off of a grid. Estimates are quoting that half of Europe should be using solar energy as opposed to grid power by 2020.

All of this activity in the solar panel industry will reduce the cost of solar panels for the consumer market. This industry will likely boom in the coming years giving companies more profit and more flexibility in reducing costs.

By learning how to build a solar panel, you can save money and even build a pool solar panel.

With rising prices, it is good to get cheaper power. With solar power, it is practically energy for free, and could end up earning you money. For even more affordability, it is possible to build your own solar panel.

The first thing is ensure you have the necessary tools and equipment. This will mean sourcing the best solar cells for you, which should be given a good portion of time to decide. There are many out there.

Other than this, you will need plywood, a circular saw, good sized length of 1 x 1, screws and screwdriver, caulk, outdoor paint, soldering equipment and solder, glue, copper wire, diode, batteries and Plexiglas.

The first step will be to draw a grid, suitable to your solar cells, on the plywood, (use them as a template). Having determined the size of the panel by this, you can cut the plywood to size and the fun can really start.

The 1 x 1 should be cut into lengths according to the plywood and attached to the sides using the screws and caulk. Once fixed into place, all but the grid can be painted with the protective outdoor paint.

It is necessary to join cells together in a series. Each cell will have a tab; which should be attached to the preceding one with solder. It is important this work is done carefully, to ensure no damage. Once completed, the series of cells can be glued in place on the grid pattern on your wooden frame.

Once all set into place, the copper wire and diode line can be attached from the panel to the electrical system. The diode is necessary here, as it will prevent power being lost through reverse transfer from the batteries.

Plexiglas now needs to be attached across the entire panel. Fix this into place with suitable amounts of caulk to thoroughly protect from the elements. Now you have managed to build your own solar panel for the first time; there should be no stopping you.

The world faces many issues today, and one of the most important is the need to preserve the environment. Humans must adjust the way they live in order to protect the environment so future generations inherit a clean Earth and not be responsible for cleaning up a mess that they did not create. Unfortunately, many businesses have yet to change their own habits and are not doing their part in helping out.

Protecting the environment that we live in, and adjusting our behavior to harmonize with it, so as to be able to pass on a sound environment to the next generation, is something that we all recognize needs to be done. However, our concerns have not translated themselves into widespread action, and many businesses are still not doing all that they can to help the environment.

One environmental hazard that businesses are especially negligent toward is the industrial battery. Lead, cadmium, dilute sulfuric acid, and alkaline electrolytes are all toxic materials found in industrial batteries and can cause great damage to the environment if the used battery is tossed casually into the trash. Proper disposal is key to reducing their impact on the planet.

Businesses and organizations are held responsible by law to take care of the waste they generate. Once a battery has ceased operation, it is not enough to throw it to the side. In fact, it is illegal. Used industrial batteries must be transported to the proper disposal facilities. Some of the materials found in the battery are highly toxic and are therefore considered industrial waste by law.

Most businesses do not have the adequate, or even any, processing facilities for dealing with industrial waste, and they must therefore subcontract the processing of these batteries to a professional processor. After they are finished with, industrial batteries should be collected and transported to an industrial waste processing plant that has the facilities to dispose of them in a manner that causes minimal damage to the environment.

Here are the requirements by law in handling industrial batteries:

- You must designate a person to be responsible for industrial waste that requires special handling.

- A specialist subcontractor must be hired to transport used batteries to a processing facility.

- Accurate records must be maintained regarding the number of batteries purchased and used. This data must be provided to the subcontractor.

Performing these duties is not an option. It is a legal requirement. Large fines are handed down to companies found non-compliant with the legal mandates enforced by the nation. Additionally, fines are not the only financial hardship a business faces if they choose to break the law. Imagine the public relations headache such a company would face. In a world in which it is more important than ever to go green, potential customers and businesses tend to shy away from a business that appears as if they do not care about the environment.
